Terms and conditions for distribution of dhobi press to members of dhobi samaj:

The following terms and conditions shall be applicable for the purpose of distribution of dhobi press to needy members of dhobi samaj, residing within municipal jurisdiction/ municipal wards of North Delhi Municipal Corporation.

1. The dhobi press can be distributed by the North Delhi Municipal Corporation to poor men/women from the dhobi samaj, who do not have any other support or any source of income apart from annual income from all sources not more than Rs. 50,000/- (this amount may be revised by the NDMC from time to time). 

2. It is to be given only to poor men/women belonging to the dhobi samaj and not below the age of 18 years and above 55 years and who have been residing in any of the municipal wards falling under the municipal jurisdiction of NDMC for at least five years on the date of submission of the application.

3. Application should be in the prescribed format duly completed and requisite supporting documents attached with it. Incomplete application shall be rejected.

4. Attested copies of voter ID Card/Adhaar Card/Ration Card, Certificate of Caste issued by the competent authority and a proof of residing within municipal jurisdiction of NDMC for the last five years shall be enclosed with the application form.

5. The application form must be certified and recommended by the Area Municipal Councilor. In case of application under discretionary quota, it should be duly certified by the discretionary authority.

6.  The applicant should not be the recipient of dhobi press under any other quota or from EDMC, NDMC, New Delhi Municipal Council, Govt. of NCT of Delhi or any other Govt. department. An affidavit on Rs.10/- non-judicial stamp paper shall have to be submitted in this regard alongwith application form.

7. The Deputy Commissioner shall get the application scrutinized and checked by an officer not below the rank of Asstt. Commissioner and then pass orders.

8. For keeping a check on the allocation of quota per ward and discretionary quota sanctioned by the NDMC, all the Deputy Commissioners will maintain record of the applications received and sanctioned after following the laid down guidelines.

9. The ward-wise details of number of beneficiaries under area councilor quota and discretionary quota will be maintained separately, at the zonal level. A utilization certificate after the distribution of the dhobi presses will be sent to the DC/Director(CSD)/NDMC.

10. In case the eligible applicants are less than the quota allocated to the ward, the area Municipal Councilor concerned may transfer his quota from his ward to other ward within the zone. In case, any area Municipal Councilor wants to transfer his/her quota from one zone to other zone within the jurisdiction of NDMC, the proposal has to be put up before the DC/Director(CSD)/NDMC through the Deputy Commissioner concerned for the approval of the Competent Authority.

11. The applicant and the certifying authority shall be liable for legal action in case of providing false, incorrect information or any false/fake certificate.

12. In all cases, the decision of the Commissioner/NDMC shall be final.
