M&CW units

 
   

Mother & Child Welfare Department (M&CW) under North DMC is providing Maternal & Child Health (MCH) and Family Welfare (FW) services to the general public through a network of 6 Maternity Homes, 59 MCH Centres. Through the above health units, health care is being provided to women, children and general public. Different health care services which are being provided including; Ante natal care, Immunisation, Adolescent Health, Family Welfare Services including general OPD.


Preventive & promotive health care services to approximately 3.5 lac children studying in around 730 Municipal Schools(including aided and unaided) falling under North Delhi through 6 Municipal Zones under the supervision of Deputy Health Officer(DHOs) M&CW. This department is being headed by Additional Director Hospital Administration (Addl. DHA) M&CW.

Maternity Homes

•    24 X7 delivery facility

•    Indoor Facility in Maternity Homes

•    Ante natal Clinics: Monday & Thursday

•    Well Baby Clinics including Immunisation; Wednesday & Friday

•    Adolescent Care Clinic: Saturday 12-2 pm

•    Family Welfare Clinics

•    Lab. Services(Basic investigation limited to ANC Care)

•    Pharmacy related to mother & children

•    School Health Activities as per advance programme

Municipal School’s Children related Health Activities

•    General medical checkup for early detection of defects and diseases including eye and dental check up
•     Health education/counseling
•     Immunization -- T.T. (Vth class) & D.T. ( 1st class)
•    Maintenance of records of children and proper follow up.
•    Distribution of Spectacles & hearing Aids
•    Health Education through Talk, Lectures, Demonstrations, Quiz, Painting and Speech competition and audio-visual
•    Anaemia control programme activities
•    De-worming programme activities
